ADA DESIGN
IDS Global provides ADA oversight to the design structure for longitudinal and vertical design projects. Access to public facilities and restrooms by handicapped persons is an extremely critical element in the design process, and one of the more important building services due to their required responsiveness to a wide range of human needs.
Properly designed and constructed ADA accessible features provide a significant service to people with an equally wide range of abilities; from the needs of a person in a wheelchair – and the space a wheelchair requires – the ADA guidelines are an available primary source of design information for making public restrooms and other facilities universally accessible.
The ADA designed space and paths of travel for wheelchairs, in addition to the fixed nature of the plumbing equipment and accessible paraphernalia, require proper utilization of design standards while accounting for constructability, functionality, and cost.
